Training Tuesday

A friendly reminder: runDisney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon registration opens today at 9am PST! Register here.

Will you be running?

Next race: April 13th- Half marathon

This past week's training wasn't good. I think my 12-miler out of nowhere did a number on my knees. One day my left knee was hurting like I sprained it, the next day my other knee felt like my joint was on fire from the inside- anyone ever experience this? Rather uncomfortable. :/ I know I have a birthday coming up next month, but really body? Why are you trying to fall apart all at the same time?! A little rest worked and for the most part I'm feeling pretty good again.

Weekly Recap
Tues: rest
Wed: 2 miles
Thurs: rest
Fri: 30 Day Shred
Sat: rest
Sun: 30 min walk
Mon: 2 miles

I got in some mileage, but I picked up Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred again. I know I need to add some strength training back into my work out routine, hopefully this will help with my unhappy joints.

How did your week go? Have you ever had any knee pain? What did you do to remedy it?

  1. I like the idea of working in more strength training - I think I'll do the same! I hope your knee feels better soon. The random jump in long-run mileage definitely could have taken its toll. I would recommend icing it for sure! And hubby and I will be registering for Wine & Dine today!

    1. So excited you and Robert will be at W&D. Hopefully we can hang out for longer than 5 seconds. :)

  2. I'm registered for Wine & Dine! This will be the one year anniversary of my first half marathon (2013's W&D) and my first Coast to Coast!

My knees sometimes get sore after a long run, especially when I run outside versus the treadmill. Now I tape up my knee with KT Tape prior to my long run, and that seems to help. Unfortunately, I think knee pain after running just comes along with age.

    1. Yay! I'm going for my C2C, too. I'll definitely be asking a TON of questions about W&D and WDW in general, so I hope you'll share your insight.
I taped up my knee after it started hurting and it helped a lot. Just had to remind myself not to wear a skirt to work. Haha. :)
