2013
October: Pumpkin Run 10k
2014
January: Tinker Bell 5k, 10k & Half
April: Santa Cruz, CA Half (my local race)
August: Disneyland Half
November: Wine & Dine Half & Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k
They're spaced out about 3-4 months apart, which gives me just enough time to drop my mileage down after a race for a quick break and then pick right back up. I already know that the Disney races will be fun runs and I won't worry about my pace. I'll focus on my time during my local race- the course is where I usually run. Kind of like home field advantage, right? :)
The race finishes on the beach!
What's on your race calendar?
I wish I could say my local race was near a gorgeous vacation spot :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be doing the Jingle Jungle 5K and Wine & Dine too!! C2C, here we come!
I count my blessings all the time that I get to live here. But I will say, the tourist traffic sucks. :/
DeleteI'm excited to dress up for the Jingle Jungle! :) C2C!!! Yay!
This Saturday I am doing the Run Wild 5k at a local wild animal park (admission included!)
ReplyDeleteIn two weeks I'll be doing the Halloween themed Black Cat Fun Run (5 mile course).
Then it's time for my first half marathon, Disney's Wine & Dine!
Finally, in January I'm doing both the Tinker Bell Half and 10k!
There are other races I have my eye on (Hot Chocolate 15k, Rock 'n' Roll Half, etc.), but I thought I should get one big race under my belt before I get too crazy!
The Run Wild 5k sounds fun! I wonder what the animals think. ;) You'll have to tell me how Wine & Dine is- it looks like a blast. I'm glad I'm not the only one running both the 10k and half at Tink for no additional medal. Maybe I'll see you there! :)
DeleteAnd it's never too early to plan. I know you'll get hooked! :)
