I think I've finally found my training groove again. And oddly enough, I found it on the treadmill!

Friday I wasn't feeling up to running outside, so I decided to hit the gym and run on the treadmill just to get it done. I was only planning a couple miles, but felt good and I got in 4. But... I think this affected my long run on Sunday. I had planned to go out for 6 miles on Sunday, but my calf was starting to cramp up a lot, so I only got in 2. As I'm getting back into the habit of running and logging more miles, I really need to keep up with stretching.
As I'm preparing more and more of my first marathon in January, I've been looking at half marathons to run for a time to submit for a better proof of time. The best half time I could submit is a 2:27. I'm pretty confident I can run a faster half and I've been eyeing one that is on July 13th. I'm still on the fence on whether I want to run it.
I've gotten a lot of my packing/purging done for my impending move to Texas, so that's a huge relief. Now it's just a matter of keeping things to a minimum and staying organized. I'm excited, but I'm definitely going to miss my perfect 75 degree California weather!
How was your week?
I've learned to enjoy the treadmill again ( once I got some super comfy shoes)!
ReplyDeleteI bet the packing and moving is very bitter sweet for you!
It's weird to pack everything up and it makes me sad to leave everyone I know, but I'm excited for a new adventure. And of course, to be with my husband. :)
DeleteHey, every mile counts out there! At least you got some in :0) That is what is most important. So are you moving to Texas pretty quickly since you've already done some packing/purging?
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'd love to drive there right now, I've got work commitments until the end of July. :/
