What's Been Happening Lately

This week seems to have flown by! I've been keeping busy with housework and other odd work jobs, so that's a plus.

My husband and I had the lovely pleasure of having dinner with Lauren from Lauren's Glass Slipper and her hubby, Robert! Such a great time. I met her for just a few moments at the Tinkerbell Half and I'm so glad we got this chance. But I'm bummed we didn't get a picture! Next time! :)

Saturday, I found my new place to do my long runs! It's the great lake near our house with an amazing bike/pedestrian path. It's 9 miles around the whole lake, but I just did an out-and-back to get me to 6.5 miles.

There are beautiful lakeside houses to gawk at. Coming from California, you just don't see houses this big. Or at least this many. I'd want one of these on a vineyard somewhere. ;)

I did some shopping for home decor. I also discovered Hobby Lobby. That place is HUGE!
A bit of Cars Land for the home?

I got this for our kitchen. I'm sure many of you agree with this. :)

I also experienced my first Texas rain/thunderstorm. I've never seen rain come down this hard in the summer. And it was still like 95 degrees!

I've gotten down a rough training plan for the WDW Marathon that I'll be posting soon. I'm not too confident about it, so I'll definitely be needing some input! :)

  1. What a lovely lake to be able to run around! I am surprised that you don't see big houses in CA. I would have thought they'd be everywhere...lol. glad to see you are settling in nicely!

    1. There's big houses in CA, but they tend to be clustered together in the more expensive neighborhoods. I'm just surprised there are so many all over the place. :)

    1. Since I only made it part of the way around the lake- I'm looking forward to running around the whole thing. And there's kayaking and stand up paddle boarding, too. :)

    1. And just think- a marathon is just 3 times around. Ahh! That sounds terrifying. Haha. :)

Love that death before decaf picture...it's the truth! There is a time and place for decaf...never and in the trash haha!

    1. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking about a picture. :)
Before I bought the death before decaf thing, I sent a pic of it to my husband. Usually he doesn't go for this kind of home decor, but he was all for it. Haha.

  5. Wow! I've been away from the blog scene since I made it to Houston and didn't realize you moved here!!!
Coming from another native Californian the storms here are crazy!! But you do get use to them. When I was back in California I actually missed them!

    1. As another CA transplant, I've been wondering what you're been up to and how Texas has been treating you. :) I'll admit, the storms are pretty cool.
How are things with you? Any runDisney plans in the future? WDW Marathon with the DisBroads?
