Training Tuesday

This past week, runDisney released the new medals for the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend taking place this Labor Day weekend in Disneyland. I am so bummed I will not be running this year. I'm a Lilo & Stitch fan, but more so I love the Hawaiian theme!


This week's training has been just okay for me. I still can't seem to get into real training mode and I'm just running to get out there. I really need to get things into focus and start on my marathon training.

Weekly Recap
Tuesday: 2 miles
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: 2 miles
Friday: 2 miles
Saturday: rest
Sunday: 2 miles
Monday: rest

June squat count: 800

This past week was also my husband and I's 4th wedding anniversary. We haven't seen each other in about a month and won't see each other again for another 6 weeks. I've been pretty sad about it and I think it's had a lot of affect on my running. On the upside, he did send me these gorgeous flowers at work.


How do you motivate yourself to get into training when life gets you down?

    Those DL medals are pretty cute, but I'm not really a Lilo an Stitch fan.

    1. I like that they change up the theme for the DL half every year. Mixes it up every year. :)

  2. That's a beautiful bouquet.
    Sometimes you just have to get out and do it, whether you're motivated or not. I struggle with it too. The hardest part is getting out there. Once you do that, the run is just the run.

    1. So true! I went out this morning for 2 miles, but was feeling good, so I did 4. I think just getting through the first couple of miles is the key.

    I am loving the Disneyland Half medals too...the Hawaiian theme is so awesome. Makes me wish I was running!

    1. I hope they go by quickly! But there's so much to do between now and then. :)
      I've always enjoyed a good Hawaiian theme. Maybe a race in Hawaii is the answer!

  4. Running when you're down is tough because you lack the motivation to run, but you feel so much better after you run. It's a vicious circle. I hope you are able to find the motivation to get back into it. Maybe the fact that the runDisney Marathon Training plan STARTS this week!?!? I saw that and nearly fell out of my chair! Good lord, the countdown has really begun for Marathon weekend, the training plan has started. ::panicking::

    Oh and the DL weekend medals are CUTE! I love the lanyards! I am big fan of the rotating themes that rD is doing for this weekend, makes it fun! Though I am really bummed you won't be there this year! I was hoping to hang out! :(

    1. I just happened to take a peek at the training program and did a double take at the date! It's scary, but exciting!
      I'm bummed, too, that I won't be there for DL this year. I expect lots of photos of the weekend from you. :) But we'll hang out for sure during marathon weekend!
