I hate carrying my phone in my hands and my running clothes don't have pockets. I have an ifitness double pouch fuel belt, but it rides up after a while and becomes uncomfortable. Way back when I first started running, I used to shove my phone in my bra. Classy, I know. And it didn't even work very well. I wanted something that would attach to my bra somehow, but when you google "sports bra phone holder," not much comes up. There are a couple sports bras on the market that have pockets in the front, but to be frank, I don't really want to add more "up front" while I run. So... when you can't buy it, make it yourself!
* The Sports Bra Phone Holder *
Attaches securely to the back of your bra, allowing for a full range of motion, while still remaining close to the body to keep it from bouncing around. It has a top flap to keep your phone in, but is still easy to access. It's not sewn onto the sports bra, so it can be moved to different articles of clothing, like a tank top. I wouldn't call myself unusually flexible, but I can reach between my shoulder blades easily, which makes this possible. The amazing part is I can't tell it's there. Here's how it works:
Attach holder to sports bra before putting it on.
Phone slips in
Top flap folds down...
and closes shut.
Ta da!
That's intriguing. Lululemon had a bra with pockets in it. I didn't try it so I don't know how well it worked.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's really cool! I just got one for my upper arm recently, and I don't really like it. I have a spibelt I use, usually.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies!
ReplyDeleteJennifer- I saw one with pockets, but I think it was only big enough to hold keys or chapstick.
Karen- My hubby has an arm thing he likes. I think it's the ifitness brand?
That is awesome! You are really good at DIY projects!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I certainly try! It took me a few prototypes to figure it out. :)
ReplyDeleteSmart idea! I like it! I might have to enlist my mom into making one.
ReplyDeleteI'll post a tutorial soon, but it was super easy to make. Lots of rectangles. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust wondered if you ever posted a follow up tutorial. I would love to make one for Princess next week!
DeleteThanks!
Sell it on etsy!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo looking forward to your tutorial on the phone case. I just went on a jog yesterday and lost my ID and bank card from my terrible phone case/wallet.
ReplyDeleteThankfully and amazingly a family of angels returned them to me, but now I am scouring the Internet for anything that would clip onto my sports bra and hold my phone and cards tight.
I love this! Did you ever post a tutorial? I would love to make one quick for Princess next week!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry! I never got around to making a tutorial. :(
DeleteIs there any trick to the flap that keeps it around your bra?
DeleteHow do you actually attach it to the bras? Velcro?
ReplyDeleteI am a fanny-pack user so that is where my phone and camera reside while riding, flexible cell phone holder
